It all started…

…as a research project for a course called Career Development. I am currently a graduate student enrolled in the Masters in Management program at Wayland Baptist University. We were required to pick a topic for our research paper. I wanted to write about how the employees who do not have children are treated at work so I focused it on how the shift toward family friendly companies has now put some people in a situation where they are inadvertently discriminated against.

During the research phase and interviews, I discovered that this subject matter is considerably underserved. We have a small but growing community of people who are voluntarily childless. No matter the reason, this lifestyle decision is valid and it brings its own particular challenges.

This work is the result of my research project and exploring the rabbit holes that one can fall into while becoming engrossed.
